Among these special gateways, the Celestial Portal stands out as a critical mechanic for survivors looking to visit the secret realm known as A Moment, Fractured. Understanding where to locate this portal and how to utilize its features is essential for mastering late-game progression.
How to Spawn the Celestial Portal
To spawn a Celestial Portal, players must first complete a full run loop by reaching Stage 5 and altering the Primordial Teleporter so that it aligns with the planet rather than the moon. Once the loop is initiated, you need to advance to Stage 3 of the new loop, which corresponds to Stage 8 overall. Arriving at this stage triggers a glowing Celestial Orb to appear floating around the main teleporter.
After defeating the stage boss and fully charging the teleporter, the Celestial Portal will manifest adjacent to the teleporter structure. Entering this portal transports your survivor directly to the floating structures of A Moment, Fractured. If you happen to miss or skip the portal, it will reappear on Stage 3 of subsequent loops.
Navigating A Moment Fractured
Upon stepping through the gateway, players enter a serene environment composed of floating islands suspended over an endless void. A glowing pathway guides survivors downward across each platform toward a massive monolith known as the Obelisk. Navigating this area requires carefully dropping down the path to avoid falling off the edge.
At the bottom platform, players can interact with the Obelisk to make a crucial gameplay decision. Choosing to obliterate yourself ends the current run, rewarding you with Lunar Coins and unlocking the agile Mercenary survivor if done for the first time. Completing this action on Monsoon difficulty also awards special survivor alternative skins.
Alternative Uses and Continuing the Run
Players are never forced to end their run upon entering A Moment, Fractured. Approaching the Obelisk automatically spawns a separate continue portal, allowing you to return to the standard stage progression without sacrificing your character. This allows survivors to collect environment logs or secret codes before jumping back into the action.
Additionally, carrying special items like the Beads of Fealty changes the outcome of interacting with the Obelisk. Instead of ending the run, the item redirects you to A Moment, Whole, where you face a powerful boss for additional Lunar Coins. Utilizing these options gives players total control over how they handle late-game challenges.
